This lovely patient was thrilled with her beautiful result after laser treatment of oral melanotic macules. I share this case to educate: laser treatment requires accurate diagnosis, an understanding Clinical Challenge: Dark Lesion on Lower Lip MPR Brown spots, especially on the lips, can be alarming to some. In some instances it can indicate rare oral mucosal melanoma, however in this case it was a non cancerous labial melanotic macule.
